Meet LaVita

LaVita LeGrys leads our Legislative Affairs Portfolio, bringing more than 20 years of public policy, legislative and government relations experience. Throughout her career, LaVita’s ability to cultivate bipartisan relationships within Congress and the Executive branch has resulted in success in a broad array of policy issues, including federal procurement, technology and innovation, homeland security, immigration and visa policy, trade, and health care. Before joining Blue Water Thinking, LaVita served in several senior executive and leadership roles at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, including Assistant Administrator for Legislative Affairs for the Transportation Security Administration, and Director of Legislative Affairs (where she served as the Secretary’s subject matter expert on Congress), Senior Counselor to the Department’s Chief Procurement Officer and Senior Advisor to the Assistant Secretary for the Private Sector.
